The Master of Arts program in Interior Design is a post-professional program that provides graduate students with advanced knowledge and understanding in interior design. Successful completion prepares students for positions in a variety of professional and educational settings. The program offers a choice between Plan A thesis or Plan B research project in possible areas of specialization which include Design Education, Design Process, Interior Design Preservation and Conservation, Environment and Behavior, CAD, Lighting, Health Care, Universal Design and Culture Design. Both plans are supported by advanced content in the area of specialization, courses in research methods, statistics, design analysis, and programming.
Students may select course work at the 400 level or above in anthropology, art history, communications, computer science, building construction management, economics, education, history, labor and industrial relations, landscape architecture, management, marketing, and urban planning or other areas in consultation with their advisor and committee.
