    Work Hours
    Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 90 days..
    Compensation The annual salary is $68,668-$72,788. A competitive benefit package is included.

    Class Summary
    This position supports the pre-award cycle and is responsible for identifying federal and state resources and grant opportunities matching MCC initiatives and strategic goals, conducting and evaluating research, grant writing/development, and working collaboratively with internal and external personnel to develop grant proposals that support the mission and goals.
    Typical Essential Duties
    Researches grant and resource opportunities and matches the opportunities with investigators or referrals for departmental consideration.
    Manages pre-award proposal submissions, including: assisting departments/Principal Investigators (PIs) in the development, preparation, and submission of grant and contract proposals; review of application requirements; budget preparation and application completion. Requires working closely with the principal investigator and the proposal team to ensure all sponsor and institution policies and deadlines are met.
    Interprets and advises on funder application procedures, requirements, and regulations
    Ensure proposal submissions are complete and in compliance with agency and organization guidelines, instructions and deadlines.
    Monitors pending grant proposals. Follow-up with funding agency as necessary.
    Works with Legal to set up agreements for personnel services on grants with outside institutions (IPAs, MOUs).
    Coordinates and provides communication with a variety of constituents regarding grant development, review and approval processes.
    Facilitates workshops for and provide technical assistance to staff, faculty, administrators, and teams in the area of grant writing and development. Assists faculty and staff in directly accessing information concerning potential grant funding opportunities.
    Participates in grant technical training provided by funding agencies and keeps abreast of changing grant standards and proposal guidelines.
    Works with Grant Accountants to structure and plan complex, multi-year grant budgets involving cost share, indirect costs, and external partners following multiple guidelines from the Uniform Grant Guidance, the Code of Federal Regulations, funders, and external partners.
    Ensure compliance with sponsor requirements, federal policies, local and MCC policies.
