  The library’s essential purpose is to supply its patrons with information as efficiently as possible in support of the academic, cultural, and community service mission of Ferrum College.

  To fulfill this purpose the library will maintain an appropriate collection of books, periodicals, and non-print materials along with the equipment necessary for their use. The library will also provide access to a full range of resource sharing services supporting faculty and student research. Making information as easy to obtain as circumstances permit is the one constant goal.

  The library staff is also dedicated to carefully planned individual and group bibliographic instruction that emphasizes computer competence and to the maintenance of an atmosphere of courtesy, competence, and helpfulness at all times.
