Student Voluntary Services (SVS) provides students with educationally valuable experiences through community service. SVS boasts one of the largest active memberships among Ball State student groups, with more than 2,000 students participating annually.
SVS collaborates with more than 100 local service agencies to offer students opportunities to engage in community service. Students work to meet the needs of both the agencies and the populations they serve. Students must work within agency guidelines, but have the flexibility to provide ideas or organize activities in consultation with agency staff. SVS also involves students in one-time and short-term service programs and activities.
SVS also partners with state and national organizations including AmeriCorps and Indiana Campus Compact. Service awards and scholarships are available through the Leadership & Service Learning office.
