  • The State of Texas Caps Tuition

  • The State of Texas has put a cap on the cost of tuition for any state run universities which will send a great message to the families of Texas. By capping the costs to the high $5000.00 range including fees, more families and students can breathe easier now that they can reach that amount and send their child to university.

However, are all states doing this capping procedure for state run universities? It would only make sense and it would open up a whole new frenzy of enrolment for these universities. More students could afford to attend and would be closer to home with lesser traveling costs. Student loans via the state would be more feasible and the families would have a lower debt ratio.

Not everyone is destined to attend university, but at least finish high school and try one year of college if money is the drawback. There are plenty of fine local junior colleges in each town and city which can train their students for plenty of trades and occupations. Within one year most programs can have you graduate and hired by your placement officer.

If you are going to a state university and money is still an issue do some searching on the internet. Try your parent’s place of employment and see if they have a bursary or scholarship for the child of an employee. If you succeeded in high school with very high marks seek out sponsorships for highest math or science or English marks upon graduation. Search scholarships, funding, bursaries, grants and other government sources which usually have lots of money left untouched.

Ask your city hall or town council if they offer any awards for attending a local school. Seek out funds from the Kiwanis, Veteran’s Leagues and other delegates to see if you might qualify for money from their funds. Make sure that if your parents or grandparents put money away for you that you access that money.
