    The Department of Biological Sciences of the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Auburn University is seeking two full-time Lab Technicians to assist in the general biology labs. These positions provide technical support and services within a lab in support of research, projects, services, and/or instruction.

    Essential Functions
    Maintains and performs weekly preparation of lab experimental materials and equipment for biology lab classrooms,
    Coordinates the use of laboratory equipment and performing routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
    Initiates material and supply orders for biology lab experiments and conducting inventory analysis of materials needed in biology lab classroom experiments.
    Assists the laboratory manager with daily inspections and updates to lab classroom computer and TV monitors, as well as identifying and reporting issues affecting daily operations in the lab classrooms.
    Performs administrative support duties such as assisting faculty and the laboratory manager with undergraduate student training on the daily operations in the biology lab classrooms.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications
    Level I - high school diploma or equivalent with no experience required.
    Level II – high school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience in performing tests and/or research in a lab setting.
    Level III - high school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in performing tests and/or research in a lab setting.

    When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one-year relevant education per year of required experience.

    Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
    Excellent organization and time management skills.
    Excellent leadership skills.
    Experience with molecular biology techniques.
    Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements and procedures
